New curriculum workshop

Many new ideas were raised during the workshops-

the first is that students are ready for learning or not. This must be done on a cellural level, acording to research. The first 5 Minutes must be spend on relation building to open the gateway to learning.This is being done with Moari inititive games and activities to create a connection. The lecturer said we rush to finish the curriculum and cover the material. Relationship building is more important.

The curriculum is pie in sky idea and will not raise the achievement . You -the teacher can make a difference. When people ask you what you do and reply-I am sucked at Maths or I hate maths or it was my worst subject at school , you can change the next generation attitude 

we are gap fillers

show the material in different ways-models, digital, paper, picturesm, words, numbers, graphs

We make fraction mistalkes because we use whole number rules

Use the Feyer model and tip charts and vocub list in the class to help with learning

Remedial v accelarated learning. Give them tools to help with the current work

Enablers and extenders

Every student is a teacher there are 30 teachers in the class.  Mine group Group intelegence. Change the groups frequently. big, small. different groups

When the time table slide was put up, Sonny notice two mistakes. AI sometimes get it wrong and he Sonny was present and bean counting

When we were asked to link new algebra questions to the new curriculum and where it fits in , all the  teachers try to solve the algebra questions instead of connect it to teh curriculum
